Please be punctual. Your lesson begins and ends at the scheduled time.
The City of Burlington Zoning Commissioners have limited the number of music student’s cars parked in my driveway. They would prefer that the drop-offs & pick-ups be staggered so that it is not a regular occurrence to have more than that one extra car in my driveway at any given time. To further complicate things, parking is restricted on Brookes Avenue. The best way to accommodate the this without wasting time is to drop your child off at the end of my drive five minutes before their lesson time, run some errands and then pull into the drive to pick them up.
Please do not block the end of the driveway so no one else can pull in.
Please refrain from idling in the driveway.
Do not park on the street and leave your car unattended. You will be ticketed
Please come to the back door and let yourself in. It is disruptive to the student currently having a lesson to ring the doorbell to announce your arrival. (Gigi, my friendly barking standard poodle, will undoubtedly let me know you are here.) I would greatly appreciate it if you would remove your shoes.
This means that you double-check your belongings when you pack up for your lesson. Make sure that you have all of your music, your lesson assignment notebook and applicable accessories such as reeds, mouthpiece, ligature, neck strap, and all of the pieces to your instrument. Remember: It is not your parent or caregiver’s responsibility to do this. TIP: Use a bag to keep your music books and notes together so that all you have to do is remember to bring the bag.
Take a look at what I assigned you. If something is not clear and you have questions about the assignment, call, text or email me. If you have questions about a particular issue or part of a lesson that can wait until your next lesson, write it down on the left hand page of your assignment book. (Opposite from where I have written out your assignment for the week.) If we don’t use an assignment book, use a post-it on the page. If you don’t have time to accomplish everything I ask, then try prioritizing the assignment.
